Point of View: Diversity Challenges in Canada

Immigrants' contribution to the Canadian economy is a well established fact. However, Ipsos' own research has shown that regardless of ethnicity, education, and work experience, immigrants share a common experience: challenges translating their work experience and credentials to meet Canada's competitive job market.

In this paper, we are pleased to share the point of view of Ratna Omidvar, President of Maytree and leading expert concerning diversity issues, as well as the findings of recent Ipsos' studies. The verbatims collected by our Ethnic and New Canadians Research team illustrate the disillusion that some immigrants experience and they confirm the paramount importance of providing equal opportunities and building inclusive workplaces.
